The big ADVENTure
The Big Adventure was designed to bring some joy in the run up to Christmas. The concept was simple - a living advent calendar!
Every day from the 1st -24th December a new piece of work was unveiled at a variety of locations around St Leonards and Hastings. The artworks ranged in form and included sculptures, soundscapes, illuminations, installations and projections, created by the wonderful people that live here. Some were small and hard to find, others more obvious. The locations were announced on social media in the days before each one was revealed.
The mission was to be positive, uplifting and thought provoking, as well bringing a smile to peoples faces.

This project is devised and produced by local resident Hattie Spice.
Hattie is a set designer and art director who has worked in a variety of different 3D disciplines for the past 25 years. She studied Theatre Design at Central St Martins where she got her degree, with a year off in the middle to study Fine Art.
Since then, her design and creative direction work has been incredibly varied and interesting with music shows & tours, fashion shows, theatre, commercial installations, film premieres, product launches, pop ups, festivals and private events.
This project is part of Pitch, our public call-out for new creative projects in St Leonards that took place in September 2020.
