BLACK MAGIK FEST

BLACK MAGIK FEST

Black Magik was indefinitely postponed due to change in Covid regulations. Below you can read the information about the planned event.

Saturday 26 June | 12-5pm | free entry
St John's Church Hall, Brittany Rd, Saint Leonards-on-sea, TN38 0RD

Black Magik Fest is a new arts festival in St Leonards celebrating what it means to be Black and British.

Alongside an amazing line-up of artist we will have cultural institutions from the local area coming to provide information on what they do.

Food and drink will also be available for purchase from local black owned vendors.

We look forward to joining together and embracing our heritage and culture.

Access: The church hall is accessible to wheelchair users via a ramp at the front door and it is all on one level. There is one toilet that can be accessed by a wheelchair however at the moment it does not have handrails or a hoist.

Further info:

Black Magik Fest is devised and curated by local resident Jack Kennedy.

Jack Kennedy aka Paris Grande is an artist and activist. Their work uses the lens of drag to explore world events and media portrayals of the “Good” and the “Bad”. They are co-founder of Hastings Rally Against Racism, a campaign group working in Hastings that seeks to raise awareness and promote education around issues of race.

Black Magik Fest is part of Pitch, our public call-out for new creative projects in St Leonards that took place in September 2020.
