GOOD STUFF IN ST LEONARDS-ON-SEA
Good Stuff is a creative programme of projects in St Leonards, East Sussex created and led by local residents in partnership with local arts charity Home Live Art. We want to provide opportunities for local people to come together through creativity in order to create positive change in our community and to feel proud of where we live.
This Good Stuff programme of projects will focus on dance, film, performance and song with the goal of creating new spaces for local people to feel connected, learn new skills and most importantly have fun!
All projects are resident-led. The groups behind each project are based in St Leonards, and our main activity takes place at St John’s Church Hall on Pevensey Road as well as in our dedicated space Greenhalf Studio in 2022.
We want to make a change in our area and are determined to be at the forefront and help deliver what this is rather than just let it happen to us.
OUR AIMS
-Provide new opportunities for local people to get involved in creative activities
-Bring people together to make a lasting and positive difference to our community and our lives
-Celebrate diversity
WHO WE ARE
Good Stuff in St Leonards is a community project led by local residents who have formed a collective of voluntary run Working Groups. Each group helps shape the vision and direction of their project and works together to make it happen.
Local Facilitator Caf Fean was brought on board at the beginning of the project to help support the project and individual Working Groups. Since March 2022 Hannah Rose Fox has been supporting the projects as Project Manager.
Support
Good Stuff in St Leonards is facilitated by Home Live Art, a local arts charity who produce live events across Hastings, the South East and beyond.
Home Live Art is supporting each group to develop and grow, bringing expert advice on community organising, staging events and linking professional mentors to projects if required. They will also provide advice on further fundraising as the projects develop and mature whilst ensuring all projects are consistent with their core principles of equality, accessibility and diversity.
Good Stuff in St Leonards is funded by Creative Civic Change – a partnership between Local Trust, the National Lottery Community Fund, the Calouste Gulbekian Foundation, and the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation. Creative Civic Change launched in May 2019 and supports fourteen communities across England to use the power of the arts and creativity to create meaningful civic change in their areas.
